Exactly What I Needed

Had a day off today.
Ahhhhhhhhhh.

I woke up at 10am because I actually set an alarm.
I don't really know why I set an alarm. But I did. Go with me on this one.
I got up and immediately went downstairs to play Wii.
Then, I made it back up to my bed to surf the Internets and watch TV.
Then, I played Wii some more.
Basically, the Cliff's Notes version of my day is Wii and TV. Hey, that rhymes!
I made chicken nuggets for lunch and continued my day as usual.
I did actually do a little bit of work today. I called Homer B. Johnson, the Garland ISD athletic director, to get his opinion for a "10 Greatest High School Football Games" piece that TDMN is putting out in a month or so. You have to call him "Homer B. Johnson" because the man has a stadium named after him, and the stadium is called Homer B. Johnson Stadium. So there.
I also did a little bit of work on next week's cover story. Nothing major, just some touch-ups for now.
Then, I Wii'd some more.
I finally got off my lazy ass at around 5:45pm, when I got up and went to the Y.
Two miles later, I'm at 80 miles. 80 freakin' miles. I don't believe it.
I came home, talked to my beautiful girlfriend who was freaking out about something for no apparent reason, ate rotisserie chicken for dinner, prepared my lecture for the CHS class tomorrow (giddy up), watched those Boston Terrorists beat up the Rockies in game one of the World Series (God, I hate Boston so much), and now I'm writing this blog.

I told you yesterday that I needed a pick-me-up.
But I'll settle for a slow down.
